Sylvia Chow is a fashion designer based in San Francisco. She works as a Senior Designer for Thirdlove. With 9+ years of experience, she brings innovative, high-performing designs to life, from concept through pre-production. Her work spans lingerie, activewear, wovens, cut & sew knits, sweaters, and accessories, with specializations in seasonal concept development, fit expertise, and fabric innovation. Most recently, she was a key contributor on the TempSync™ collection at Thirdlove, the industry's first thermoregulating intimates line using 37.5® Technology, recognized as one of Time Magazine's Best Inventions of 2025. She also brings extensive experience in licensed collections, developing production-ready apparel graphics, placement artwork, and all-over prints for major IP collaborations while ensuring full compliance with licensor standards. She is fluent across the full product development process: trend research, CAD illustration, tech packs, BOMs, PLM management, garment construction, and technical design. Recognized for her collaborative approach with creative directors, merchandising, sourcing, and global vendors, she delivers cohesive, impactful collections that balance creative vision with business goals.
She holds an M.F.A. in Fashion Design from the Academy of Art University and a B.A. in Visual Arts Media from UC San Diego, where her undergraduate thesis show, BINARY, was honored with the Theater and Dance Department Chair's Award for Distinguished Service.
An avid fan of sci-fi, fantasy, and history, she indulges her whimsical side through designing costumes for theatrical productions and creating cosplays for fan conventions. In her free time, she enjoys attending concerts, discovering new restaurants, and spoiling her pets.
